Eventually, while befriending Suhana, Dev sees her with Sona and finds her daughter. Sona keeps hiding Suhana from Dev as she feels that he might snatch Suhana away from her, while Suhana is well aware of all the differences between her parents. She shifts to Delhi for business purposes and buys a portion of Dev's office. Sona is now a successful businesswoman living in Kolkata with her family and 6-year-old daughter Suhana, while Dev becomes a casanova, not knowing that he and Sona have a daughter. After heated arguments between Sona and Dev due to Ishwari's continuous interference in their married life and misunderstandings created by Dev's cousin, Vicky, Sonakshi and Dev part ways, After separation, Sona gets to know that she is pregnant with Dev's child, and the story then takes a leap of seven years. Ishwari realizes that Dev cannot be happy without Sona, and agrees to their marriage. When Dev realizes that his mother does not approve of this relationship, he takes a practical decision and decides to part ways.
When Ishwari comes to know about their relationship she is heartbroken as she fears that she will be replaced by Sona in Dev's life. Sparks fly between Sona and Dev and they fall in love. Due to an accident, Dev cares for Sona and she falls for him. Sona is a young and vibrant nutritionist who is hired by Dev to take care of Ishwari's health. Dev owes everything to his mother and has a feeling of indebtedness and complete devotion for her. His mother Ishwari had to make a lot of sacrifices for the upbringing of her children. Dev was only eight years old when he lost his father. Dev is a successful business tycoon who lives with his mother Ishwari and three sisters. The show explores work in progress relationship of Sonakshi "Sona" Bose and Dev Dixit. The show is well received and well known for its modern and relatable concept and storyline. The show completed its 450 Episodes on 31st August 2021. Some of the highlights are understanding, realizations, character developments, and a matured edition of reunion of separated lovers. Post leap, the show was about the journey of the characters to their maturation. A third season aired starting 12 July 2021. The second season of the show aired from 25 September 2017 to 2 November 2017 lasting for 26 episodes. It stars Erica Fernandes, Shaheer Sheikh and Supriya Pilgaonkar.
